Watch The Menace Camaro Get Into The Wall At Ozark Raceway Park – Out Of The Groove and Out Of Control!

As much as we love small tire and radial racing around here we also have not lost an ounce of happy feeling for the large tires cars out there in the drag racing world, either. When we firs saw photos of Erin Brussard’s Menace Camaro we were immediately in love. After all, there aren’t that many 1971 Camaros out there built to look like this one is. Power comes from what we know is a Rehr and Morrison engine. We believe it is an 864ci combo but have not been able to confirm that as of this moment.

As we all well know, the key to going fast with a nitrous car is getting everything turned on a working as quickly as possible. Firing those multiple guns as quickly off the starting line as you can will net you the lower number on the time slip. You do have to keep it off the wall, though and that’s where things go bad here.

Brussard was driving and on the hit of the throttle the car makes a move to the right and drives itself almost all the way out of the groove. Hanging with the run, Brussard tries to get the car back to the left where it needs to be but instead the car grows an immediate attitude problem and before he knows it, the thing is one three wheels shooting across the track.

While the hit looks bad, we have been told that the damage is nearly 100% cosmetic and the car will be back out soon. We’re glad for that because this thing is one tough looking hombre and we think that once it is lined out and refined it is going to be one mean hauler.

BEWARE, THERE IS SOME STIFF LANGUAGE WHEN THE CAR HITS THE WALL!

That’s a case of very poor driving. He was in trouble from the get go by heading for the right side wall and should have lifted. But no, he stayed in it while out of the groove into the marbles and dirt. Blame that one on the driver’s lack of driving skills. Nothing more, nothing less.
