Watch NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Racer Andie Rawlings Hang Onto Her Bike After Making Wall Contact

NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle racer Andie Rawlings was happy to be getting a top end interview for the TV show on Friday at the event but the circumstances were not what they were looking for. Rawlings, as you will se in this video made contact with the wall on her left as she was heading down the track. As if that weren’t bad enough she also blasted through the wall mounted finish line markers.

Thing is, all of that other stuff pales in comparison to the riding job she did to prevent a real calamity on the track. As the wall was looming larger and closer, Rawlings basically got her left leg on the seat and the right one was just kind of  flopping around in the breeze as she struggled to maintain control of the bike. It was one of those things. As quickly as it began it was over and Andie came to a stop and then cruised off the top end.

The most chilling part of the whole thing for me was looking at her bike on the top end and on the left side of that bike, the exposed crank bolt which  is used by the teams to spin start their engines was ground down like someone had put a belt sander into it. Amazingly that protrudes a maximum about an inch from the body.

This is is one heck of a study in strength and balance!

Press play and see Andie Rawlings somehow stay on her bike after it touched the wall

We can’t get the TV broadcast here in Canada but i’d like to see that interview. That is pretty swift thinking to get her leg out of the way and some pretty good control to wrestle the bike back in line after hitting the lights.
