Watch The Blown Big Block Astro Van Blastro Produce One Of The Most Vicious Burnouts We Have Ever Seen – Wild!

I think it’s clear that burnouts never get old for car enthusiasts and this is a classic burnout from a one of a kind vehicle you won’t soon forget. Tom Richey has been destroying tires for years now in his blown “Blastro” van, entertaining stands full of drag racing fans with his full track smokers whether at eighth or quarter mile strips. The all steel 1985 Chevy Astro Van known as “Blastro” is powered by a supercharged big block Chevy, has run 7.78 at 178mph, and to top it off, is street legal. It lays down some of the meanest tire wrecking burnouts ever seen and this is a prime example.

This video taken at Kanawha Valley Motorsports Park almost a decade ago will never get old. On a single run, the blower surge is loud and proud as the van rolls into the water box. He nails the gas, the engine goes up, and smoke immediately fills the starting line area. With the zoomies coming out of the front fenders above the front wheels, makes for a great smoke show as the exhaust blows the smoke out in a spectacular fashion. Once the line-lock is released the supercharged beast starts its way down the track leaving an incredible cloud of tire smoke billowing off the rear tires, and with the engine and supercharging screaming carries the burnout easily past the 330 block before coming to a stop at the eighth mile scoreboards.

Check out Richey and the “Blastro” van fill the sky with some serious tire smoke:
