We have showed you lots of drag racing videos from South America over the last year or so and we’re going to continue that trend. Why? These guys are as hard charging as the racers here in the USA, Australia, England, and everywhere else they are running for a quarter mile flat out. The fact that every drag racing culture brings its own flavor to the table is what we love and the guys down below the equator certainly do. Inline engines are the small and big block plants of their locale and that means the screaming sounds of six in a row more often than not are making it go. That’s the case with this beautiful little Brazilian Chevy truck featured in the video below.
For starters, don’t skip right to the drag strip portion of this video. Why? If you do you will miss the video tour of the truck that includes an up close look at some of the masterful work and fabrication that literally ties it all together. From the Weld Wheels up, this is a beauty of a little bowtie if we have ever seen one.
There’s an under hood shot and while we’re not 100% sure, we think that this is an overhead camshaft conversion of some sort. This has all the hallmarks of a cam in block engine but with an inliner you know some of the inherent disadvantages in that program due to the long pushrods and other issues. It would make sense for conversions to be available that would allow these engines to rev harder and higher, making more power. There’s a big single turbo force feeding the mill as well.
We see a couple of runs made in this video. The first one has a pretty poochy launch but once that turbo spools, the truck is gonzo! It sounds good when the boost comes up and the engine really sings, too. The second run shows the truck pulling a bad ass wheelie that the driver has to pedal out of. It lands hard and bounces with the driver lifting and coasting at that point.
This is one neat little truck!
