This week, I am heading to Royal Purple Raceway Park outside of Houston, Texas to announce at the NHRA event. When I get there, I am going to walk down the left lane to see if I can get a first hand look at the crater left by the exploding Nissan shown in this video. This isn’t some weak sauce little pop, this is a full bore EXPLOSION with all the fire you could want and sparks to boot. The car in the video that blows up is a serious piece. The ratty Nissan body may fool you some but the fact is that the car is powered by a pissed off Toyota 2JZ inline six engine and while it is running like a dog on this run, the car is known in the Texas region for being a bad Jose.

By the looks of this kaboom and fire, we’re guessing that the car threw a rod and the resulting shower of oil in the blazing hot exhaust and turbo ignited, creating the firestorm you’ll see in the video. The driver does a good job to get it hauled down because you know it was bathed in its own sauces by the time driver was trying to slow it down. We’re wondering if there is in-car video of this fireball because if there it, woah boy will that be impressive looking!
