If you are wondering why we’re still running photos from the 2015 Rolex Monterey Historics it is mainly because the event is so flipping awesome we have loads of photos left to run! Look, among vintage races in this country there are none more awesome than this. From bazillion dollar Ferrari GTOs to more workaday coolness like Corvettes and various small European manufacturers, the Rolex Monterey Historics are awesome from top to bottom.

As a kid I had no appreciation for the cars that came out of Europe designed for road racing competition. To me they were weird looking, had no power, and didn’t sound like the muscle cars I loved. As I have gotten older and been exposed to a whole bunch more stuff I can honestly appreciate cars like the machine shown above and many of the foreign entries you will see below. They were advanced in some ways during their era as compared to American competition and behind in others. On the beauty and design front they are very tough to take to task, that is for sure.
