Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, had a much different rumble taking place on this Saturday afternoon. The 12th annual GoodGuys Nashville Nationals and the Music City Mayhem autocross competition are in full swing and the cars are out for both events. The show cars are gorgeous, with a wide array of styles and types. From the beautiful bronze 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona to the badass Ford hot rod with “MOVE OVER” bluntly visible in the radiator, we could’ve been lost for hours looking over details on each car. But there were two things that had us rushing through the car show…

One was the Music City Mayhem autocross competition. With an audience watching from a bridge behind the autocross lot, autocrossers such as Al Unser, Jr., Bret Voelkel and Rodney Prouty whipped their cars through the cones with ease. In a story that has been all-too-similar this weekend, the program got condensed due to an incoming storm that threatened to wash out the whole show. But it’s just rain, and once the skies clear tomorrow, the racers will be racing, the show cars will be back out and the weekend will continue on!

$10 to park plus $20 to go look around- not worth it to me. I could show my car for $70 as a non member. Not going to happen. OR if you own a pre 65 car, to to the Nashville Boogie car show for $25 to show your car or $5 as a spectator. It is smaller than the Goodguys, but it is in an air conditioned garage, out of the sun with some good live music.

I realize some people like to sit in lawn chairs and bake while people ooooo and aaaa over their car- but that is not me. I would rather re paint my truck rather than polish it. Thanks for the pictures, though.
