This Artistic, Slow-Motion, And Riveting Look At The 24 Hours Of The Nurburgring Is Worth A Watch

It is always neat when a company has the presence of mind to actually invest in media and projects that their customers will actually enjoy checking out. Nitto tires has done this by supporting the DrivingLine channel on YouTube. On this channel you are not going to find all kinds of ad laden Nitto content, rather you’ll find some really good and well made automotive videos. The one below is the best thing we have ever seen on the channel and it is a look at the 2014 24 Hours of the Nurburgring and not in a way you may be expecting it.

Instead of showing us a bunch of racing highlights with close calls, great passing, wreckage, and more, this video takes a completely different approach. Using a proven combo of compelling but unobtrusive music, amazing slow motion footage, and great editing, you basically get a video postcard of the race. We see cars like the Aston Martin flying in the lead photo, the famous umbrella girls that keep the drivers “cool” before racing begins, the party atmosphere of the 24 hour event, the scene at night, and by the end you get the sense of what this race means to the racing community, the competitors, and the maniac fans that party their brains out for a weekend in celebration of the 24 hours of the ‘Ring.

Sometimes videos like this are clearly trying too hard to make racing look artistic or to make an event seem like more than it was. Neither of those things is the case here. Both the video work and the event are big time and that makes this a great watch.
