I LOVE V8 Porsche conversions. Seeing a small block Chevrolet oil pan hanging down from underneath one of the classic 911 bodies is just awesome. And they haul ass! This one here is super clean and the color is stunning. With some minor wiring and assembly left to finish, along with the exhaust, whoever buys this sucker will be in great shape with a project that can probably be finished in a few weekends.
The best part is that it sounds like this car has been built right. Stripped to bare metal, beautiful paint and body work, all the right 930 parts to make it cool as hell, and a color and wheel combo that just look right.
Man I would love to drive this thing.

Actually, the fact is that the weight of the Chevy and mounting hardware weighs i around 70 lbs LIGHTER than the stock Porsche motor and the susspension needs dialing Down after install. It is a well thought-out program and gives you the best of both worlds. But Chevy haters rarely let the facts get in the way of their imbecilic opinons.
I know as I have owned a Renegade LS conversion myself, although in a later model chassis than this one and are familiar with the builds and the process.
It’s a nice package. A real sleeper. Hauls Ass, gets great fuel economy, cheap to service and insure and very few vehicle will run with it – And it drives the Porsche purists nuts. If you buy it right, you can have a Real Ball with it and get out of it later even – or even a profit to the Right Guy.
Whoever considers this project may want to bring it to Vegas for finishing. Those guys at Renegade are True Hot Rodders and Good Guys IMO.
Ever notice 99% of engine swap cars that are for sale aren’t finished? All of them need minor touches. Someone brought it this far and couldn’t do the minor touches? Lol. Silly wheels, odd color, and rear window 6x9s looks like it’s straight out of a street freaks Car Craft mag from the early 80s.good luck with the smog check in Ca. I’m sure it’s fast.
It’s a ’77, so could getting it smogged be an issue? Do stock Porsche 911’s have to be inspected for tags?

California smog law only pre 75 is exempt. Technically you aren’t allowed to modify any pollution control system on any year but there is no biannual checks for pre 75
