Gene Winfield is a certifiable bad ass. He’s an icon in the world of hot rodding, one hell of a nice man, and older than hell. I bring the last one up because he’s in way better shape than any of us young bastards. At the SEMA show a few weeks ago Gene was in the Eastwood booth giving metal shaping demos, and in this video you’ll see Gene using the Mallet and Sandbag, English Wheel, Shrinker and Stretcher, Bead Roller and more. It’s really cool to watch the master at work.

I’ve been friends with Gene for a few years now after helping thrash on his roadster at Bonneville, and can tell you he is one great man. His talents are legendary of course, and inspiring as hell. Sheetmetal work is my least honed skill, and this video just inspires me to get more sheetmetal tools and then go to one of Gene’s schools.
