In honor of 40 years of production, the folks at Ford of Romania decided that they could take a page out of Ken Block’s playbook and put Simone Tempestini, two-time Rally Champion, behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta F5 Rally Car for some gymkhana action inside, around, and through the Ford Romania plant. We’re talking the actual plant where cars are built. And the stuff to build them, and some cars, were still in it. The video is done really really well, and is very entertaining. Especially when you realize there is a bit of humor and point to the whole thing you don’t usually see in videos like this.
Good job Ford of Romania, and congrats on 40 years of Ford in your lovely country.
To call those piles of shit Fords is to insult that great marque’s heritage with such greats as the Mustang and T Bolt! Can’t they come up with a new name -preferably something Romanian for toilet produce.
Great driving though!
If you’ve ever driven a Ceausescu-era Dacia (basically a baseline Renault built under license) I’m sure any Ford would have felt like a yuuuuge step up. I was over there in ’95 and I don’t think I ever saw a Ford. Most of their cars were licensed versions of French and Italian crapcans without the quality control.
Great video!
