This Lincoln Town Car Might Be The Weirdest Thing I’ve Ever Seen On An Autocross Course

This Lincoln Town Car Might Be The Weirdest Thing I’ve Ever Seen On An Autocross Course

Dean Rogers showed up at the Goodguys show in Pleasanton a few weeks ago with a Lincoln Town Car like none other. A custom from subframe that replaces the ENTIRE front of the car, has two motorcycle style forks, one behind the other, steering the car. The result is an incredibly narrow front end which saves this boat from plowing through cones like mad. I have to say, it’s completely nuts but perhaps more practical, for the autocross, than you might think. Since I wasn’t there for this particular Goodguys event, I didn’t get to see it up close and personal, but I assure you it has to be a site to see.

What the thought process was, who came up with the design, and the reason’s behind it I do not know. What I do know is that I have arguably seen more autocross runs in the past 10 years than anyone reading this, and this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen navigate the cones. And I’ve seen some weird crap pull to the starting line.

Check it out.

The joys of race car building and ingestion of vast quantities of LSD didn’t go quite to plan…..

What a waste of time….. too bad all of that labor couldn’t have been applied to something productive.

A Ralph Nader special I would be afraid to drive it.. Very unstable. It would probably be impossible to insure!
