Stop action videos are really neat. They require a crushing amount of time and work, but the end result is always pretty neat. This video is a perfect example of that as it shows a 3.2L flat six Porsche engine pulling itself apart (with a couple of human hand cameo appearances) all the way down to the block. From the cams magically sliding out on their own to the cylinder heads and jugs floating off into the vapors, it is as much a tour of the iconic boxer Porsche engine as it is an entertaining way to spend a couple minutes of your life. We found it especially interesting as the innards of this particular engine are completely foreign to us. Typically we don’t find ourselves on the business end of a Porsche with wrenches in hand. There are guys named Helmut, Klaus, and Fritz far more versed in the art of German wrenching that handle those things with more skill than we ever could.

This is the first video in what will become a series. Now that the block is torn down, the next video will show it being machined and prepared for reassembly. According to the comments, it is being hot rodded some and will make 100hp more than it did when it was pulled from the car to which it was mated. These engines are legendary for their performance in many different forms of racing and having ridden shotgun in a couple of Porsches over the years, they make damned good steam with a turbo on them. As a side benefit they sound totally bad ass at full song.
