Crashing rally car flings out in-car camera that then catches car in mid-air tumble

Wild rally crashes are nothing new and it’s easy to think that you’ve seen it all when it comes to guys smashing up their high-strung econoboxes in the forests. However, Martin Kder’s crashed Skoda 130 LR in a Czech Polish vintage rally might be unique. The orange Skoda runs the first part of the stage perfectly fine, but as Kder emerges from a forested section, the little rear-engined runabout oversteers like mad and heads off the side of the road, launches over a berm into a cow pasture, and rolls over a few times.

Again, that’s nothing atypical for rally, but as the Skoda smashes hard in the rollover, the windshield rips off and the onboard camera goes with it, landing face-up. After the camera adjusts to the sudden influx of sunlight, it captured the 130 LR in a mid-air pirouette directly overhead. Kder and his codriver Radek Slovkosky were apparently OK after the wreck, though we suspect the Skoda might be a bit worse-off.
