With A Custom Frame, Great Components, And LS-Power, This 1959 Nash Metropolitan Pro Touring Build Is Way More Bite Than Bark!

(By Scott Parker) – Ok, the other day we showed you a cool Buick pro touring build from the project section over at Pro-Touring.com and today we’re showing you another and this one is amazingly neat. Now we have all see Nash Metropolitan’s at a car show with a huffed big block in them or set up as some sort of pro street car that looks really mean sitting still but is a virtual death trap at every speed above zero. Those cars are like mantlepiece knick-knacks and while they are fun to look at they aren’t functional in the least. Enter this car which is the exact opposite. We’re talking about a guy who is putting in the work, doing the math, and when he is done will have a screaming little maniac of a car to cruise around with and kick the cones with as well.

There are two words that tell you how serious this dude is: custom frame. That’s right, this little 1959 Nash will be rolling on a square tube frame that has disc brakes on the corners with coil over shocks, a four link in the back, rack and pinion steering, room for an LS motor and all the modern design elements to keep it strong and stiff no matter the punishment the little car’s yawing and swaying tries to impart on it. We’re going to be following this one because we love the idea so much. Again, to see someone actually making a “real car” out of a Nash is super awesome. It’ll sound mean with the LS, have balance like none other and it’ll probably have a curb weight (empty) of around a ton if we’re guessing.

What do you think? Is this one of the neater things you have seen in a while or what?
