EVERYONE STOP: This Hideous Photochopped Frankenstein Is Not The 2015 Ford Torino GT – Stop Spreading It Around

EVERYONE STOP: This Hideous Photochopped Frankenstein Is Not The 2015 Ford Torino GT – Stop Spreading It Around

Ok, we need to become ground zero for stopping the current automotive internet hoax of the week that is this horrendous thing you see at the top and bottom of the page. You have likely seen on your Facebook page or gotten an email about the “upcoming 2015 Ford Torino GT”. This email and anything to do with the modern “Ford Torino GT” is complete and utter crap. Hooey, garbage, lies, fabrications, and bullshit are all terms that could be used in the description of the car, its pricing, engine options, and all of the other associated information. How do we know this? It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to debunk this hoax.

1.) This image has been on the internet since 2010…at least.

2.) Automakers like Ford don’t announce new models in FB postings or email. They tend to make a fairly big deal out of these things. There was that whole GT thing over the winter that was dropped like a bombshell, the GT350 Mustang hit hard also. Any of this ringing any bells?

3.) This is the worst looking car ever conceived. It is like a Camaro, a Corvette, and some sort of deformed robot all mated and this thing was born

4.) The fake price for the car is listed at “about” $40,000 on many sites that have reported on this.

5.) Ford has reduced redundancies in its global lineup down to virtually none now, so their next game changing move is to bring a V8, RWD, coupe to market here in the USA? Brilliant! Thank God they do not have an exponentially superior version of this car already for sale and celebrating its 51st year or production.

6.) My six and eight year olds started dry heaving when they saw this rendering. “Why does the front end look like that, Dad?” – “Is this how someone wanted it to look, dad?” – “Do grown adults who ‘know’ about cars actually believe this dad?”

7.) The claimed top speed of the car is 214-mph. HOW DOES ANYONE BELIEVE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS CIRCUS FREAK?!

There was a legitimately incredible hoax a few years ago with the Ford Bronco and that one went like wildfire (actually it is still going around) but this one looks like something that a bored college kid with a few Bud Light cans in him decided to manipulate one night instead of doing homework. So, now that we are all on the same page, please start systematically blowing up every post and email you see about this fictitious heap. If Ford really was going to built something this horrid looking, there would be some real trouble at HQ.

    Hideous?

I seriously think you guys need a taste transplant!

This is an automotive evocation of pure evil seduction and I would gladly lick every inch of it before happily driving it into a magnificent sunset…

Time to get out the Kleenex and retire to the john!

I’ll concur that that the rendering is fairly attractive. If something like this were built I wouldn’t mind rolling in it.

    2. Chris

Yes, Finally a car that is true badass looking and it’s not real. Ford needs to hire the person who did this ASAP!!!!!!

I gotta say I really don’t know why you are calling it hideous…I kinda like it. tell you what, looks better than ANY Taurus I’ve ever seen ( not hard..) – I actually prefer it to any Mustang in the last 10 or so years too – again, not hard since they are so friggin ugly…and I’m a Ford guy…

There are some details to it that are hard not to like, but those lights mounted in tunnels on the grill just bug me. If they were done just a little more respectfully, and the rear body coke-bottling a little less exaggerated, I think it would look great.

    Hmmmn . So lets see now ;

    Take one part Bentley
    Two parts Camaro
Sprinkle a bit of Mustang all over
Toss in a measure of Olds 4-4-2
Just a touch of new Dodge Charger
Shake vigorously , have a good look .. and …

…puke your bloody guts out .

Granted on first look its not half bad looking . But look at it for more than ten seconds and before you know it your breakfast is all over the floor … AGAIN !

Damn you Lohnes ! Y’all competing with McTaggert to see how many times you can do this to me ?

Sheesh .. and here I thought we was buddies … 😉 [ humor definitely intended ]

Would I love to see the Torino nameplate and spirit make a return? Yes. Would I want it to look like this? No.

I see a mix of 5th-gen Camaro and 6th-gen Toyota Celica. Not bad cars in their own right, but they should not mix

Brian, seeing how you said you liked a Volvo in the last 12 months and have test drove every suburban mom-mobile lately; I am wondering about your tastes of what is hideous. This thing is far more appealing that most of the blobs with tires being pushed on Americans of the last decade.

  7. Tedly

I’ve found it funny that this is supposed to be a 2015 model going on sale this fall. Right about the time everyone else has their 2016 models coming out. Why people buy such blatant bullshit is beyond me.

It would be cool to see a large touring coupe with gobs of power from Ford again though.

You know how you can tell it’s fake? It’s different, it’s got character. Nearly everything on sale right now is a bland blob of blum. The reason Ford won’t produce something like this isn’t because it’s “hideous”, it’s because the guys in suits are a bunch of risk-averse scaredy-cats.

Rosie O’Donnell is different and has, er, character. Doesn’t mean I want to be seen in public with her. Or anywhere else for that matter.

  9. The Crusty Autoworker

While clearly amateurish in appearance, it is not near as bad as bangshift’s take on it, is it?
I very much like the idea of a modern Torino/Fairlane. I certainly know better than to think it will ever happen, but a guys gotta have dreams you know.
It needs work to clean it up and define it’s look a bit, but I see a little bit of the 72 “Sports roof” in this rendering, and that would be the last desirable Torino built IMO.
I’d love to see a modern take on that car.

  10. Frank Heath

I’m strictly Ford and I think it looks Bad Ass….I’ll take mine in Grabber Blue please

  11. Sean

Yes, your kid commented on the front end. Yeah, that happened. Car looks great. Even if it is a shop.

  12. Brain

That is a 97 celiac gt with ford mid section . Love the back and mid section but nose could be lol different. Bring back the 351 Windsor or Cleveland . ONLY true production race motor ever built, FACT ! DE-tuned from factory to meet government regulations, all you had to do was decrease timing to 4* and richen mixture 1-1.25 turns out and it’s a 190 mph car. Yes I owned the 71 grand Torino fastback with 4h ported polished heads with econo cam , stock 411 rear and torqflite trans, 4000 stall torq converter with stage one shift kit. Yes I hit 190 with just simple cheep mods. While your at it bring back the 500 series as well.

No body cares about your whiney little bitch opinion ..Your kids sound like little shits also ..
