We’ve showed you plenty of videos from Beech Ridge Speedway in Maine. This is the place that runs a busy schedule during the summer months and they pack that schedule with fun stuff like spectator drags, truck races, and a wild event called Car Wars. The event seems to follow the normal pattern of stock car track “nights of destruction” where junker cars are put through a series of races, contests, and fights before basically the whole place is littered with the decimated hulks of the competitors.
In this clip, Carbon Video has cut out the boring stuff and boiled the footage down to feature only the entertainment of cars and trucks bashing into things, bashing into each other, skiing on two wheels, doing sweet jumps, and in some cases rolling over on purpose.
We know that this isn’t exactly the most intellectually stimulating thing we have posted and that many of you think that events like this are a waste of time but the fact of the matter is that they pack small circle tracks across the county and because of that we think they are important. Hey, how many of the lunatics on the track began as the kids in the stands with a dream of competing? All you need is a junker and some intestinal fortitude to be a hero and as you will see, neither the junkers nor the fortitude were lacking!
I feel like this is one of the things that if you’re a car guy, you just have to enter one of these at some point in your life. Take that junker that has been sitting behind the shop returning to the earth, cage it up, and go have fun.
