(Photos by David Whealon) – We mostly know David Whealon around here for his awesome photos from land speed meets, pulling events, and mud bogs, but the guy is a gearhead’s gearhead and that means he’s on the scene when any sort of cool racing event goes down. He’s made it a habit the last couple of years to attend the IMSA SportsCar championship series races at Virginia International Raceway and we have enjoyed this look into a form of racing we don’t see a lot of. This is all supercars all the time right here.

From Vipers and Corvettes to Ford GTs, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, and more there was lots of high pitched noise and technology on display all weekend long. While these are not the typical cars that we see on the pages of BangShift we’re pretty sure that it is undeniable many BangShifters would love the shot to lap a world class course like VIR in the likes of a Ford GT or a Lamborghini racer as you will see below.
