The Most Insanely Dangerous Rally Corner We Have Ever Seen Is Populated With Fans Who Share A Collective Death Wish

Maybe it sounds mean to say that the rally fans in this video have a death wish but that’s only because they do. Why else would they stand in the middle of the road as race cars flew through the air at them completely out of control MULTIPLE TIMES. To make matters worse, the fans are hiding behind the corner of a building, running out into harm’s way and then scampering away before being made into road pizza by a series of flying rally cars that are coming through what has to be the most dangerous and devious rally corner we have ever seen. What makes it so bad?

As you will see, the cars are carrying some pretty big speed downhill and there is a huge dip in the road which effectively turns into a jump at the velocity that these cars are traveling at. Not only it is a jump but it is a jump that throws the cars into the air in an awkward fashion so they land hard, with their noses leading the way and then the drivers need to wrangle them back under control as the rear end decided whether it wants to follow along with the program or not. Combine all of this with the fact that the drivers were surely seeing the legion of idiotic fans running out in front of them and you have a real recipe for some Olympic level badness to happen.

No one wrecks in this video, no fans are run over in this video, but boy is there some serious potential for death and destruction here. The drivers have some mad skills because a few of these cars are really unhappy when they land from the jump and seem intent on swapping ends or getting into the surrounding buildings/large solid objects.

Looks no less dangerous then trying to cross a street in Seattle where the women are on their phone swilling an unicorn latte.

plus, the the that almost got hit was a photographer – most get paid 2 bananas to take pictures by the big news companies (BS pays only one banana so that’s why they don’t have this guy’s pictures).

The navigator should carry a CO-2 paint gun – no harm or murder done, right?

I don’t actually see a problem with this. We have a video of one of the few areas of motorsport that actually enjoys increasing numbers of fans and spectators. Many of the cars are similar to the cars that we all drive (or they do in Europe), for many of the stages there is no admission fees and the fans can get up close to the action and close to the participants. Vastly different to the impersonal complexes we celebrate in North America where fans are completely removed from the action, empty VIP boxes get all of the good views, the cars that folks are watching bear no resemblance to anything we see on the street , and the control of the action is totally contrived and scripted. The behavior of the Rally fans is possibly more as a result of growing up in a less litigious society than we have in North America. The behavior of a few young bucks should not overshadow the hundreds of thousands of spectators, corners and kilometres that the rally world encompasses.
