This Lamborghini Gets One Final Workout Before It Gets Built Into A Race Car…And You Won’t Guess What Kind!

This Lamborghini Gets One Final Workout Before It Gets Built Into A Race Car…And You Won’t Guess What Kind!

Some say, that they have done things with a BMW M3 that have caused tears to be shed by the company’s CEO…and that they are considered some of the craziest sons-of-bitches to run a 2wd rally car in America. What we do know is that neither one of them are members of TaxTheRich… BUT THEY DO HAVE A LAMBORGHINI!

Brakim Racing have earned a reputation of being slightly unhinged, even by rally standards, and a review of their past work with their black and safety yellow BMW M3 shows it. From 107mph jumps on a road stage in New York to plenty of dirt work at wide open and sideways, nothing should be put past the duo of Matt Brandenburg and Elliot Sherwood. Yet, somehow, knowing what they are planning with this Lamborghini Gallardo, it is still a bit of an eye-opener. Sure, BMWs can cost a little bit, but they are still a very affordable car in terms of racing. The idea of throwing a Lamborghini onto any rally stage becomes one of those “it’s so wrong, it’s right” scenarios, and we can’t wait to see the expressions on people’s faces as they walk down the line of Subarus, Mitsubishis, and others just to see a day-glow orange Lamborghini on dirt tires. This video is the last time the Gallardo was …um…”driven” before it was pulled into Brakim’s shop for it’s transformation into a full-blown rally car and if it’s any indication, the V10 in the car is going to be put to the test every time the car is fired up. It’s set to debut at the 2015 Empire State Performance Rally on April 17, 2015, though we certainly hope to see testing footage well before that!

Awesome! it makes a change from the boring little hatches of WRC!

This mother will have it’ts tail out more than a bitch on heat and reminds me of a hyper Stratos.

What car would my fellow readers like to see converted for rallying – I’d go for a Bentley Continental GT.

Hmmmn … yer all still leaning towards the AWD route … which would keep things homogenized and as boring as Group A currently is ! And for the love of god certainly NOT the overweight pig of an Audi A8 masquerading as an overpriced Bentley !

RWD ! Period ! So what’d I suggest other than the current crop of Porsche GT3’s , Aston Martin V8 & V12 Vantages , Ferrari 458’s etc being prepared for the new FIA Rally GT class ?

Hmmn … hows about seeing a C7 self destruct …. Lotus Evora … the obvious M3 .. Mercedes’s AMG GT .. damn .. TVR’s dead and gone or I’d suggest that … Donkervort R8’s .. the new Supra once its announced … the new Mustang in one of its high performance trims ? … etc ..

But honestly … this Lamborghini crew are kind of self deluded and clueless ! You do not build a race/rally racer from a street car . The changes needed to be made to the chassis alone are so far beyond the capabilities of ANY shop as to be ridiculous ! You go to the manufacture and buy one of their race prepare ready body in white cars to build a racer … rally or otherwise *

Unless of course losing as well as watching your pretentious attempt at a race/rally car fall apart before your very eyes 😉

Honestly .. its idiots like Brakim racing that have managed to keep US rallying in the Dark Ages as well as totally irrelevant and utterly uncompetitive on the world stage . Toss in the Mafia like control of Buffum and family over the sport in the US [ Block(head) is his son in law ] and you’ve got the complete picture as to why US Rallying and its Drivers have been a complete FAIL and an embarrassment to us all since day one !!!!

        * FYI; I refer you to Reinhard Klein’s ” The Rally Car ” chapter one as to why you do not even attempt to build a rally car from a street vehicle

GS ,….there are several Lambos racing in Australia’s Targa series that are doing very well (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvwssyLyPAs ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMukgK-0XnU ) and your notion that all rally cars are built from ` bodies in white ‘ is just plain wrong. Plenty of people start with street cars as you’re probably well aware. But to then turn this into a bashing exercise, slagging off whole teams and indeed all US rallying and all their drivers, including Block shows your complete lack of sportsmanship or indeed compassion for anyone else besides your own very narrow perceptions of what is right and allowable. When you buried the GuitarSlinger guise and came back as the Colorado kid ( really??) after giving us a much appreciated break from your negativity I thought you’d actually turned over a new leaf but…nope. Did your mother never say to you `if you can’t think of anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all’ ? You would do well to take that on board.

I’d like to park my butt near the first whoop-de-doo (ditch ,jump, water crossing) that the lambo meets at speed. YOUTUBE…….!

…… the only question being … how many pieces and carbon fiber shards does the AudiGhini wind up in after it hits ..

      I’ll guess …. 432

The durability of that carbon fiber tub is questionable, but at least they are actually going to drive the thing unlike all the celebrities that just use theirs for profiling.

I’m looking forward to this build! You have to be a certain kind of eccentric to do what they’re planning on doing, so this should be pretty interesting.
