Most Bizarrely Awesome Swap Ever? 6.0L Powerstroke R32 Skyline Drift Car Engine Burning Tires!

When we saw this video posted by the guys at Clipping Point Video our eyes bugged out a little. Why? How could they not. An R32 Skyline, the car that lots of people in the USA crave to get their hands on turned into a drift car is kind of cool but when the engine is not an inline six, is not an LS, and IS a freaking 6.0L Powerstroke diesel you’ve got our attention. Not only is the swap done, this video shows the car burning tires and sliding around like it is on a hockey rink. Other than the dodgy reputation that this engine has in stock form for everything from head gasket sealing issues to rear man seal leaks, to EGR cooler fails, there’s absolutely nothing we can find fault with here.

The brilliance of a diesel in a drift car may not be immediately evident but when you think about it, the whole thing makes sense. You need wheel speed to make smoke and while most guys achieve it by buzzing a small block V8 to the moon, why not utilize the massive low end torque of a diesel and couple it with some deep gears in the rear axle. You’ll make smoke like it is going out of style and in theory the engine isn’t being worked nearly as hard as one that is cranking 9,000 RPM all the time. There’s also the fact that this car is so nose heavy it would probably do a stoppie if the driver hammered the brakes and you have a recipe for clouds. Mark the tape. This is the first time we have ever said that we want a 6.0L Powerstroke R32 Skyline drift car.

Love it? Hate it? You tell us!
