(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – More coverage from the NSRA StreetKhana. Mild to wild stuff in here. Lots of heavy hitters came out to show off and get folks interested in turning wheels. Plenty of folks just there for the normal experience at the Nationals tried their hand at it too. The T-bucket’s license plate says it all and though it wasn’t going to set FTD (fast time of day) it was pretty respectable. The blue Chevy II was surprisingly smooth through the turns even with the ample body roll.
The Deuce roadster is one we’ve seen a few times over the years at cruises around Central Kentucky. He shamed those of us just watching by slinging it around the cones. A good time was had by all while plenty of rubber and fuel was spent in the name of speed. Though we have experience in autocrossing, our little Nova is not quite ready for this yet. It will never be competitive, but would be so much fun to sling that thing around in a safe environment for a taste of something different. If you haven’t tried this stuff out – you should.
