One Clean Comet Caliente – This Little Mercury Has A 302, AC, and Spray!

The 1960-1965 Mercury Comets are cool and interesting cars. Based off of a slightly modified version of the Ford Falcon platform they were produced in trim levels and performance grades from mundane right to completely mental. The 1965 cars are some of the most handsome of the group as that was the year where Mercury stylists decided to use a stacked headlight design on the front end as opposed to the horizontal lights that had defined the cars from 1960-1964.

This particular car is for sale in the Las Vegas area and it caught our eye for being clean, straight, and packing a nice little HO 302ci small block engine that was likely liberated from a Fox platform Mustang. That engine is pretty mild but it does have a Zex nitrous system on it which allows for loads more fun as soon as the button is depressed. We saw that the driver also added an auxiliary fuel system for an extra measure of safety when spraying the small block.

There are not a ton of photos but we’re guessing that if you were interested the seller could provide more. With an AOD, air conditioning, and a very clean interior, this looks like the perfect car to rack up some miles on during the good weather months. Since it is being sold in Las Vegas every month is a good weather month there.

Nice clean Mercury…we dig it.
