This Trailer For The Upcoming McLaren Movie Looks Amazing

Bruce McLaren died more than 40 years ago in a testing accident and when that happened it rocked the racing world to its core. He was a rare talent in the world capable of engineering, building, and driving his cars to the fullest of their abilities. The youngest guy to ever win a F1 race in his era and a dominating force in series like Can-Am and others, he inspired his workers to do the seemingly impossible and along the way proved what a genuinely good human being he was to boot. There’s a new movie coming out about his life and it looks absolutely incredible judging by the trailer shown here.

It appears the film is done in a documentary style with lots of vintage footage, interviews with former racers and employees, along with some cool modern shots of McLaren cars getting after it on the race track.

The most incredible thing about McLaren and his vision is what happened to it all after he died. The company did not go away, disappear, or fail. The company rose to become one of the great engineering behemoths on the face of the planet working on projects ranging from their Formula One team to manufacturing their own super cars and innovating every step along the way.

If McLaren were still alive, he’d be a proud, proud man. This film looks like it is going to be 100% BangShift approved!

Couldn’t a proper movie have been made? Ron Howard would have done a great job and easily hit the heights he attained with the awesome Rush.

Documentaries are OK in an hour long programme on TV but to really get behind the story of one of motor racing’s all time greats nothing beats an absorbing live action movie with the caliber of actors that Ron could attract.

I’ve seen “Rush” and it was an meh movie. The early history of Bruce McLaren has to be fasinating. I was into racing just when he lost his life and never witnessed his accomplishments.

Rush was a great movie with lots of detail items, but dramatised the story. Despite the portrayal in the movie, Lauda and Hunt were friends – they even shared an apartment at one point in their careers.
Making a documentary like this is the right call

Bruce had the rare talent of being not just a great driver, and passionate engineer, but of a extraordinary person and exceptional New Zealander. Privileged are we that the every time a monument displaying his name or the unique McLaren emblem adorning the cars is glimpsed, we are reminded of his legacy. He will always honored and never forgotten.

Roger Donaldson has previously portrayed this Kiwi petrolhead essence outstandingly. Bruce’s story is interesting enough already without the need for movie magics tacky desire to spin a glitter ball of skew truths and implied falsities.

‘ yeh na, this is gunna be sweet as cuzz. Go hard out full potato on the couch, watch it chugging back an L&P and murdering bags of Pineapple-Lumps aye bro ‘
