Watch A Massive 1973 Olds 98 Actually Defeat A Real Deal Stock Car At The Spectator Drags – Battle Barge!

If this monster of a 1973 Olds 98 looks somewhat familiar to you on the dimly lit circle track it should. This was the same car that we showed you tearing some of the most perfect and awesome country road donuts we had ever seen up until that point in 2014. Watch that video by clicking here. In this video, our hero finds himself on what appears the be the short end of the racing stick. After all, the dude is competing in the spectator drags event and he looks over to see a guy in a real deal stock car sitting next to him. Dead right? Not so much as it turns out.

The car makes a pretty stout launch and really shows it muscle by straight up driving away from the stock car. In the turns the racer has an advantage but on the back straight it it still the Olds. Coming into turn four everyone in the place could see that it was about to be a drag race to the finish line and anyone wit a brain would likely not bet against the built 455ci Olds big block, even saddled with all that weight, to out sprint a small block for a short distance. If the track had been about 15 feet longer, the Olds would likely has been passed but if the queen had “you know whats” she would be the kings. This is not about ifs and buts but rather about gutsy driving and one of the greatest sleepers that we have ever laid eyes on.

We don’t know the specs of the engine or suspension in this thing but glory be it is awesome. Know this guy? We’d love to talk with him! [email protected] is the email.
