Watch Dirt Racer Austin Williams Become The First Person To Launch A Race Car Out Of Perris Speedway!

It took 21 years but someone finally put a race car over the fence at Perris Speedway. The racer in question here is Austin Williams and thankfully he was OK after his car flipped and literally vaulted itself over the catch fence at the California dirt track. You will see that Williams was either qualifying or running practice laps on the course because there are no other cars out there. The track seems to have been relatively quiet which was also a good thing because we’re not sure if the area he landed is one where spectators would have been walking through to watching from.

When a baseball player hits a ball completely out of the stadium he’s hitting in, people go crazy and rightfully so. It is a feat of strength and skill. When a race car leaves the stadium it is a very, very. scary thing because there’s no way of telling who will be hurt, if the driver will be OK or if there will be other problems regarding the safety of everyone else in the place. Thankfully in this case there were none of those.

The way the car crashes is fairly typical of a machine such as this but the one thing that is not typical is the height achieved and the fact that it actually seems to hook into and then climb over the very fence that is there to keep the cars in the facility. The landing from its peak altitude is pretty mean and it hits in such a way that it appears one of the tires explodes on impact.

The fact that Austin Williams is OK lies solely in the rule book for these cars. The construction of the chassis and the mandatory safety gear saved his life.

Talk about wild! Watch racer Austin Williams win the sprint car high jump award!

Strange one that – is it just me or does it look like the car hits a hidden springboard that launches it over the fence?

Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Like I say its a weird one this is – or is it just me….

Austin is a friend and I was there on the inside of turn one watching it happen. It was crazy and looked for more worse in actual time! it was early in qualifying, he caught a rut and biked it, the rt front caught and she went airborne. The PAS does a great job of keeping people out of that area, it is off limits to grand stand fans although they are seated just out of frame.
Austin is a hammer down racer! He is either going to the front or wearing it.
