This 1953 Ford Promotional Video For The Golden Jubilee Tractor Is 1950s Gearhead Perfection

Ford has been in the tractor business for a very long time and the N-series of machines is about as timeless and iconic as some of the company’s better known car and truck models. 1953 was a big year in the history of that series because the company introduced the Golden Jubilee model which is better known to tractor freaks as the NAA. This was a slightly larger, more styled, and more powerful tractor than previous models. It was also the first that had an overhead valve engine in it as opposed to the flatheads that powered the other N-series tractors. More power to run attachments, plow, and do work around the farm and in industrial applications, the Golden Jubilee kept the Fords relevant in the exploding market of that time.

Coming in at about 2,500lbs, these are maneuverable and compact tractors that people still love today. You can get parts from multiple suppliers and while we’re not sure how many of the originals are still being used in some form or fashion, we bet the percentage is staggeringly high. Why? They were well built, rugged, and simple to fix. People have patched them back together for decades and will continue to do so.

This promotional video talks about all the cool new stuff that Ford built into the tractor and you’ll see multiple variants of the NAA at work in the field, on the farm, and at job sites. Now, if you’ll excuse us we’ll be trolling Craigslist for one right now!
