The 2014 F-100 Supernationals – Vintage Ford Trucks And Sweet Blue Oval Cars Invade Tennessee!

(Words and Photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) – It was a busy weekend in the Southeast, with big shows in Nashville and Pigeon Forge, as well as the NHRA event in Atlanta. Tommy Lee Byrd spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge, and shot event coverage for the F-100 Supernationals, which is held at the new LeConte Center, a multi-million dollar facility that is the perfect setting for car shows.

The show, which is geared toward 1948 and newer Ford F-100 series trucks, is also open to Ford cars from many generations. The show features hundreds of vehicles in the show field, as well as a HUGE swap meet. Then, inside the LeConte Center, even more vendors set up to display new products and services to benefit the Ford crowd. Throughout the gallery, you’ll notice the wide variety of trucks that make up the F-100 Supernationals. It’s not just your run-of-the-mill trucks that you might see at the local produce stand. There are survivors, stockers, customs and just about anything in between.

One of our favorites is a black ’53-55 F-100 with a Ford Coyote engine under the hood. This thing is slick and the engine looks right at home. There is also a Boss 429-powered Pro Touring style Mustang thrown in the mix, as well as a number of chopped, slammed and patina’d Ford trucks from all over the country.
