BangShift Approved Video: Watch Amazing Blacksmiths and Artisans Make A Gas Powered Chainsword!

The internet show “Man at Arms” has always fascinated me. While I am not a big video game player or someone who reads fantasy fiction books, I am enthralled at the metal working skills that these people have to create stuff that never actually existed in real life. They make swords from the past (Excalibur for example) and swords from dystopian futures, like this amazing chainsword that comes from a video game called Warhammer 40K. I sound like a completely unhip old man when I say that only because I am.

The crew at Baltimore Knife and Sword start with a Stihl arborist chainsaw and proceed to modify it and built off of it to create this wild, and functional, chainsword from the video game. Not an inch of the thing goes untouched from internal modifications to even welding on and changing the chain itself. While there is some fancy CNC plasma cutting work that is done, there is also some good old fashioned metal forging, casting, forming, welding, and carving done along with painting and even some glasswork that is beyond bad ass.

You do not have to give one amount of care to where this device came from or the fantasy world that surrounds it but if you enjoy watching amazingly talented people work, create, and use both their brains and their hands, you will love this video.

The word craftsmanship gets used a lot these days and there are plenty of people in the world with talent but these guys and girls are a cut above!
