Gallery: 50 Photos of Cool Trucks

Gallery: 50 Photos of Cool Trucks

Trucks have exploded in popularity over the last several years as a medium for cool hot rods, race vehicles, and restorations. My love of trucks is well documented here on the pages of BangShift with our Goliath and Brutus projects and my various slobbering over all different shapes and sizes of pickups, rigs, Jeeps, and even dump trucks. When I was putting this gallery together I tried to get as many eras and manufacturers in here as I could. We have thousands of truck photos so this could literally be the first of 100 truck galleries!

I think one of the reasons people are into trucks now more than ever is that they all have a distinct style of their own, despite the fact that they all have the same basic shape. A pickup truck is a cab and a bed, but there are hundreds, if not thousands of variations on that theme. It is a good indication of the nearly limitless creativity of the human brain that after 100 years of pickup construction, companies manage to roll out new and differed models every couple of years.

While the trucks of the 1950s were generally round and bulbous, the machines of the 1930s and 1940s were beautiful with their large fenders, skinny and tall wheel/tire combos, spartan interiors, and powerless flathead engines. The 1960s stuff is more taut in design and still very cool. Hit the link below and see 50 trucks of all shapes, sizes, and colors!

Love old trucks, and they are finally getting some of the proper attention they deserve. Making my list of the ones I wish I had back! It’s gettin’ scary long…..
