Military Motorhome In The Making! This 1994 M1079 LMTV Is Ready To Rock!

We dig big giant army trucks, I mean who doesn’t right? The M1079 was originally part of the 82nd Airborne of Fort Bragg, and is in awesome shape. It’s got a 6 cylinder CAT diesel with only 4500 miles on it and we’re sure it has been well cared for by the looks of it. It’s an automatic, has Central Tire Inflation and the whole deal. We dig this thing a lot, and would totally make it into an off road camper for Prerunning Baja and basically going wherever you wanted. The truck is NOT air conditioned, but an AC unit is available new in the box. We’d probably look into that. We think this could be an awesome rig.

Here is what the seller has to say.

Up for sale is my 1079 that I thought I would keep but I’ve found something else to take his place. I purchased it from a police department and we all know that they get to pick and choose the best ones. This is not one of the online auction trucks that need going through and repairing all sorts of issues. Well taken care of by the 82nd Airborne unit out of Ft Bragg, NC this truck reflects it as it is by far one of the nicest ones that I have ever come across. Showing approximately 4500 miles and being in very good shape, it would make someone an excellent off road camper. Six cylinder Caterpillar diesel engine, automatic 7 speed transmission and power steering make this an easy and fun vehicle to drive. Truck has CTIS to inflate and deflate the tires for different road and off road conditions. I purchased the truck with a fan issue which has been fixed and as far as I know, no other issues are there. Paint is very good with minimum peeling and the interior is in very good shape also. I also have a new in the crate AC system for an MTVR that goes with the truck if you want to retrofit AC in the truck. Tires are 95% or better with a brand new spare. The truck was built in ’94, delivered in ’97, and the box went on and in service in 1998. $18,500

No trades wanted and I don’t need help selling it.

Almost willing to halt the construction of my shop for this. Almost. At $15k, I would be sleeping in the dog house for a while, but it would be worth it.
