OMG!!! This 1962 Ford Short Bus Could Be The Coolest Bus Motorhome Conversion Ever

OMG!!! This 1962 Ford Short Bus Could Be The Coolest Bus Motorhome Conversion Ever

Okay, we know this 1962 Ford Short Bus is not “pretty”, but like your mom always told you, it’s what’s on the inside that matters. LOL We know that everyone at the local KOA will be thoroughly excited to see you pull up next to their Prevost with this sucker. Make sure you bring your wife beater shirt, because everyone will expect you to be wearing one. Conversely, if you show up to a hot rod show in this thing it will be the talk of the place and hot rodders will worship you. Of course we’d slam the thing, rebuild the engine and maybe put a Paxton on it for old time sake.

The seller, Mike Swan, sent us this listing and here is what you’ll read on eBay. Click the link at the bottom of the page to visit the listing, check out the rest of the photos, and bid. We wish we could. This would be awesome to bring on Drag Week!

1962 Ford Short Bus with camper conversion. Appears this was done in the ’70’s due to the patina. Everything was installed very well and all the cabinet doors open and close smoothly. It appears all the appliances are propane powered. I did NOT fill the propane tank to see if anything works however everything is connected. The pictures should explain the layout of the bus but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
I recently replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. It does start and run but only with the throttle near full so I think the carburator has something flooding. The emergency brake works but the brake do not.

Made a short video of it running and posted it on youtube. Email me for the link as ebay will not allow a clickable link. It’s titled under “1962 ford short school bus running 292 y block”

I looked through the entire vehicle and tried to take as many pictures as possible. I do not see any rust! I was only able to upload 24 pics but have more. If your interested give me your email and I will send more photos. This has been a CO vehicle its entire life. I had to replace the hood, something fell on the old one. Sorry for the color difference. Body is incredibly straight. The only place I notice that has an issue is the cowl just below the windshield on the drivers side. Whatever fell on the hood may have touched that area also.
This awesome camper is located in Sterling, CO. Buyer will be responsible for pickup and delivery. (Don’t threaten me with a good time road trip in this bastard there Mike!)

Wow. I’ll bet that propane tank for a rear bumper keeps the tailgaters at bay. I also love the use of household plumbing hardware under the hood. This could be sweet, I’d give 250 bucks in its current form.

If I was looking for a fixer upper motorhome I might consider it. But I have a hard time believing it only has 49,000 miles on it. 149,000 maybe. But more like 249,000.

Chad, you been missing your days of riding the short bus to school?

You know you walked into that one!!

I like the bottle opener at the entry door. Can hear, “Here’s your beer, now get in, shut up, and hang on.”
