Would You Update It Or Leave It Just Like This? A 1994 Chevy Extended Cab C1500 That Is 1990’s Perfection

Would You Update It Or Leave It Just Like This? A 1994 Chevy Extended Cab C1500 That Is 1990’s Perfection

This truck is so nice it defies description. And at $7800 we think it’s a pretty damn good deal too. We’ve been talking about it around here in SoCal for the past week or so and the debate is what you should do with it. More modern wheels and tires in a bit bigger size? Interior updates? I’m torn, and here’s why. The truck is near mint condition. New paint, new suspension parts underneath, clean enough to eat off of in every way. I would bag the thing and lay it out on the ground hard. To do that would require a set of wheels with more backspacing than the ones currently on it. My heart says find a set of 17 inch billet wheels that fit and go to town on it so it stays like it should be from 1994. But is that the minitrucker and custom truck enthusiast in me talking? Does anyone else care if you leave a 1990’s Chevy C1500 alone so it looks like it did when someone customized it to begin with?

I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking you. What do you think?

  1. Ethan.

Gotta fill up those wheel wells. But something along the lines of the 90s style wheels.

  2. Mike Brooks

Thank god it doesn’t have one of those awful Z-R1 rollpans from that era. I love that truck! I’d lose the hood bra and update the rolling stock, maybe add some power upgrades just for fun.

  3. Lon

It’s perfect aside from that vinyl on the hood. Leave the wheels as is, and drive it.

  4. Dave

Not crazy about the wheels, but they could be worse. I think all I’d want to do to it would be to put a chrome grill and chrome bumpers back on it .
…perhaps change the rear gear ratio to make it more peppy; 3.73’s would do.
…and tint the windows, because I don’t live in CA.

  5. ANGRYJOE

I’d rock it as is but if money were no object…

I’d lose the Boyd wheels and steering wheel for something more modern

    Window tint

and….wait for it…..a 5.3 engine swap…maybe a turbo to give it some pep in its step…

  6. cool

swap to set of newer (C5 and up) vette wheels, change steering wheel back to stock, and just drive it.
