This Is The NORRA Mexican 1000 – Race From Ensenada To Cabo And Party The Whole Way

NORRA is a little bit different kind of racing organization. Let’s say they are a bit more “relaxed” than the typical off-road racing you see at the highest levels of competition at a SCORE event. That doesn’t mean that SCORE competitors don’t still come down to race in the NORRA Mexican 1000, but it’s different. These racers leave Ensenada and then drive all the way to Cabo San Lucas. On-road, off-road, every terrain you can imagine, and 7 days of excitement. 7 days?! Yep, this one is in stages. Each day competitors drive one portion of the race course on their way to Cabo. And there are interesting classes in NORRA. Instead of being based just on the body style and such, they are based on Technology Eras. So if you build a car or truck to be like something in 1976 then those are the cars you’ll be up against. Show up in a brand new Trophy Truck and you’ll be in that era group. Here is how they break down. Check it out and then watch the video.

I’m amazed that anybody would race their expensive pride and joy and indeed risk life and limb spending 7 days racing through desert terrain plagued by warring drug cartels. If in any doubt may I refer you to that great scene in Breaking Bad featuring a DEA agent’s head nailed to an exploding turtle…..

WHY! why must the Turtles always suffer? I suppose they race south of the border because it is addicting.
