Racing working big rigs on the quarter mile is certainly no new thing but we still smile every time we see it. The wildly modified trucks we sometimes show are cool but the trucks that actually put in a work week and then become fun trucks for their owners on the weekend have all of our respect. Kind of like the ultimate Drag Week vehicles in some sense, right?
Urban Hillbilly Action video shot this footage at Tulsa Raceway Park during the National Hot Rod Diesel Racing Association race there last summer. While there are not any insanely fast trucks featured here, there are lots of cool rigs getting worked at full throttle down the track. We really dig the chopped cab over truck that runs some decent times and the old single axle rig is pretty awesome as well.
If you have never ridden in a big rig before, it is a unique experience. If you ever get the chance to ride in a truck that has been tuned up, it will blow your mind. Even if the truck is not completely crazy performer, it is like speeding down the road or the drag strip from the second floor of your house.
Mad respect to all the drivers out there working their trucks for fun on the drag strip!
