(Photos by Charles Wickam) – Whether they had the wheels up or they were cruising the pits low and slow, the trucks of the 2015 Dallas-Ft. Worth Performance Truck shootout were cool. The event drew races from all over the place to come and try their hand at the strip and Larry Larson was a featured entertainer as well with his S-10 truck. Between spending time with Larson in the pits and lending a hand when needed and strolling the pits to see what was on display or being prepared to race, Charles got a great cross section of photos from the Texas Motorplex.

Texas is truck country, no doubt. It seems like every manufacturer out there has a model that has some tie in or reference to Texas, new models are unveiled at the Texas State Fair, Toyota built its Tundra plant in the state and that’s no mistake. Because the truck culture is so huge down there, all aspects of it were on display at the event. You will see some lifted monsters, some chin scraping frame layers, and some drag iron that ran deep into the single digits through the quarter mile timing traps. Good stuff!
