Good News, Canadians! The Mercedes Benz Unimog Is Coming Back! (Sorry, Lohnes, Not In The U.S.A. Yet)

One of the most capable workhorse vehicles ever designed is slated to make a return to the Great White North’s market soon, and workers across Canada are celebrating. The Mercedes Benz Unimog is expected to return to the Canadian market soon through specialized importers. While it is a time to celebrate, there are restrictions on the trucks…since a Unimog’s top speed is barely able to handle rural roads on a good day with the right options, these will be treated in a similar vein as a backhoe or a tractor instead of a road-going vehicle. There won’t be any purchasing restrictions, but don’t expect to do much more driving than across the road to the other field without waking up the curiosity of the RCMP. So much for turning it into a over landing RV. Considering most Unimogs are worked like dogs from the moment the keys are handed over, the importation deal should be fine for both Canada and Daimler AG, who have been busy getting the emissions of the diesel engine down to (and reportedly, past)  Tier 4 Final levels.

There is no word yet on whether or not bringing one down to Massachusetts is possible yet. Sorry, boss, but you’re gonna have to wait.

So are only trucks with low range portals being imported? I’ve been passed by a few that obviously has highway gears in them.

Mercedes Benz building a diesel pickup is a hit. A tasteful solid way of life vehicle. Concerning me this Unimog is the most attractive average size out there at this time, no word on the frontier form yet.
