If we had a time machine we’d move the invention of King of the Hammers back to the middle 1960s. Why? Because then we’d be able to see guys like Mickey Thompson, Bill Stroppe, Parnelli Jones, and a bunch more throw their all at this thing. Don’t get us wrong, we don’t want to see the event changed an inch because it is so bad ass these days but imagine them trying to beat and bash their way though this stuff with that old technology? You know they all would have loved every second of the action with their teeth gritted and dirt flying everywhere.

I was at a buddy’s shop yesterday and he was asking about what this whole thing was about and after explaining it to him he was pretty blown away. Chad shot these photos and he was roaming around the area on some sort of a mechanical device. I am not sure if it was his Suburban or a UTV or something but this is not a deal where you just stand in one spot and watch. Nope, it is a massive, sprawling place where you have all kinds of opportunities to have fun and see the action from different angles.
