Mental! This Truck To Truck Stadium Super Truck Crash Video Looks Straight From A Video Game!

(By Eric Rood) – Stadium Super Trucks might be the coolest road racing in the world when they end up on a road course billing. When everything is going well, Robby Gordon’s rip-snorting trucks trying to navigate a road course with comically long suspension travel knocks the entertainment level up a notch past “Hold my beer.” For the second year in a row, Gordon got his trucks onto the timetable at the Clipsal 500, the annual season opener for V8 Supercars in Adelaide. Last year, young Sheldon Creed sent the rabig Australian crowd into a fever when he rolled at the finish line and this year, the crown similarly went ape for Matt Mingay’s barrel roll just before the Adelaide circuit’s final corner.

Check out the onboard footage from Burt Jenner, who was behind Mingay and managed to run over a stray wheel that comes off the blue-and-yellow truck. With about 18 inches of suspension and huge skidplates, Jenner probably scarcely felt the stray wheel. And Mingay? He was just fine and his truck started on pole for the final race the next day.
