Just when we thought that Punjabi tractor pulling was the craziest thing we had ever seen we have stumbled upon some videos that we can only describe as Street Outlaws India. Why? Basically you are going to see tractors street racing down a highway (a different highway in each video) but that’s not the twist. The twist is the fact that each tractor is pulling a hay wagon that has DOZENS of people in it! We don’t know how fast they are going but we do know that if these things touched each other or someone jackknifed one, everyone inside would likely be dead.
Every country, every culture has their version of a street race. We do it with thumping V8 powered monsters on back roads between cornfields or in industrial areas, the Russians have their idea of how it goes down, the Aussies another, and apparently this is what the deal looks like in India.
Obviously farm tractors are not exactly high speed operators but most big machines, especially those sold in Europe and it sure seems like these Indian rigs have a road gear that can get them a pretty good head of steam. Because the tractor is not just a device for turning over the soil but it is also what gets the crops to market it is just as much truck as a tool.
We’re virtually certain that no one at the engineering plant thought that their farm implements were going to be used for what might actually be the most dangerous form of street racing the world. This is weird and wild. We want no part of it!

That was my first thought, groups of people heading to work. That driver likes to be early just in case there is traffic.
No wonder I was on hold for so long with my bank this afternoon
