Power Wagon Week: Let’s Start With The History Of The Power Wagon

So by pure happenstance, both McTaggart and I had awesome experiences with Power Wagon trucks this past weekend and while they both have the same name plate they could not be more different in approach. Because of this, we’re going to have Power Wagon week culminating in a couple of cool features on Power Wagons. To build us to that point we’re going to have all manner of Power Wagon content from now until the end of the week. It only made sense to us to start from the beginning,.

Like many awesome things, the original Power Wagon was born from WWII. Dodge produced military trucks by the hundreds of thousands and from all of that work they realized that after the war was over, these trucks would probably be pretty handy to people in a peacetime environment. Because of this, they produced the civilian trucks and then integrated the Power Wagon series into their normal production pickup trucks as well. A legend and a legacy was born.

This video from FCA is a cool and quick look back at the history of the Power Wagon with vintage video and some background on where these legendary trucks came from. We think you will enjoy all of the Power Wagon content this week as well as the “big finish” coming in a few days.

  1. Mopar or No Car

Thank you, Brian. You know I’m forever complaining about the dearth of Mopar oriented content.
