(Words and photos by Dennis Vos) – The 2016 season kicked of at VDB Staalbouw Megapull in Stroe. Friday night was a light two wheel drive and Truck night and Saturday was filled to the brink with Farmstock examples all the way up to the multi engined behemoths.

Although the temperature was far from desirable, i attended both days of this event which was held in Stroe on a purposely build field accompanied with some good solid banks which provide a excellent viewing area from start to finish. A nice side note is that there will be a genuine European match next year at the end of September, which will bring even more contestants in comparison to this event.
Friday started at around 19.00 and contained a wide variety of material that u usually see on the road. Some trucks even hauled cargo during the day and just simply bolted some rear tires with a bit more grip and entered competition. Also a nice thing to see were the little trucks competing in a special class, i do have to say that although the number competitors was smaller then their bigger brothers, i watched in awe to see these little things go at it with even a few full pulls. Later on some light two wheel drives went into battle with each other, with some eccentric contestants. To name one was a front engined Diesel powered VW Beetle which was pure Bangshift from front to rear.
As the trucks are highly popular during pulling events here in the Netherlands, some other Truckpulling organisations attend this event also so we could enjoy some massive pulling power stretching the limits of the sleds in full force. Around 40 trucks went into competition in four different classes causing quite a crowd. For a Friday the place was very packed an busy, which meant this would be very busy edition overall.
