School Bus Snow Drifting Video: Watch This Cheese Wagon Drift Perfectly In A Winter Wonderland

This is dangerous, juvenile behavior but damn does it look like fun! Drifting huge vehicles is both scary and awesome and I speak from experience. Back when I was an upstanding citizen and working for for a big delivery company we had empty beverage trucks and a dead end street where our office was. We also had a snow storm and time to kill. While it takes little time to really get the hang of all that mass swinging around, once you nail it you feel like the king of the world. This school bus snow drifting video is along the same line as what we did but this guy is way cooler because he has way more wheelbase and he makes this look all graceful and nice. Sure, any sort of flaw or short stop would have likely turned the bus over but that didn’t happen so life is good.

This International chassis bus likely has either a 6.0L V8 diesel in it or a MaxxForceDT (DT466) making the power. With a simple GoPro placed on the ground we get the ant’s eye video of this long bus coming off a corner, stepping the rear out, and gliding gracefully to a stop. There’s nothing totally wild that happens here but the grace and cool nature of a sideways bus gets our attention every time.

We wonder how the driver pulled this one off. Were the kids on a field trip and he was waiting outside? Is he a mechanic that he the bus out on on a test drive? Who was the wily bus driver that actually schemed this up and presumably got away with it? We owe that man a beer.

Thanks for the tip, Shannon!

How many attempts did it take to make the slowest drift in history?

Still I admire this fine effort and I bet they’re glad it wasn’t full off school kids as they would still be clearing up whole lakes of barf!

We had a little blizzard one year that our teens from church were going somewhere north of Chicago. They decided to take the 2 ford 15 passenger vans as the were only going with about 25 kids. The got up to almost Lebanon, In when boom a white out and a frozen I65. Long story short both vans went offroad along with about 20 other cars. The kids were stranded up there and I went up with one of the pastors to collect them in a 66 passenger school type bus. We pulled into a abandoned restaurant parking lot becaues we needed to turn around. I sized the area and figured it was going to be a 16 point turn around. I was rolling at about 15 , I turned the massive wheel all the way to the left mashed the throttle on the 8.2 detroit and did a perfect 180 . Pastor looked at me and said with a smile ” dirt tracking it eh ?”
