Take A Ride On Top Of A Zoomie Piped, Big Block Chevy Lawn Mower! Big Speed

Take A Ride On Top Of A Zoomie Piped, Big Block Chevy Lawn Mower! Big Speed

My old lawn tractor now serves as a slow go-kart for my two young sons. With no mower deck and a five speed manual transmission, they can zip around the back yard at speeds that are fast enough to keep them happy and slow enough to minimize the potential of big impacts with fixed objects. The guys in this video have completely thrown away the idea of low speeds when it comes to their tractor as they have swapped the small stock engine for a big block Chevy! The factory transmission seems to have been swapped for an automatic as well. We’re guessing that they pull with this thing but that is just a guess. In this video there is nothing hooked to the back of it and the dude sitting on top seems to be fearless.

By the sounds of the engine it is pretty much stock, which wouldn’t normally get us that excited except for the fact this one is BOLTED INTO AN OLD LAWN MOWER. Rolling on what look to be a set of small lugged tractor style tires that probably have a speed rating of about 10, the driver makes a bunch of high speed rips on the tractor which sounds good with the homemade zoomies feeding the sound up and into the atmosphere.

What only dorks like me would know is that this is a Pennsylvania Panzer tractor. This is a pretty rare old bird and what makes it perfect for something like this is that it was one of the most overbuilt factor lawn tractors of all time. The factory axle is a narrowed 8.75″ Chrysler unit meaning that one of the more tough jobs in a conversion like this was already done. The engine has a Turbo 350 behind it and while the low speed steering much be a pain in the neck it seems to turn OK at speed.

This is a 100% BangShift approved death trap!
