From 1957-1960 Dodge trucks were part of the Power Giant styling era. This “big” look was cool for the whole line but looked its absolute best on the beefy Power Wagons that we love so much. The toughest and hardest working trucks in the Dodge line, they thrived on the legend that they had forged as military trucks during WWII and the civilian models that followed. Even today, the Power Wagon name is used in the Ram truck lineup and it represents the absolute pinnacle of beef and braun with a bed. Such was also the case back in 1958 with trucks like the orange beauty that you see below.
Aside from the obviously styling and size reason that we love this truck we’re also fond of the way it has been “worn in”. The whole rig is intact, the body is straight, but the orange paint is nicked, scratched, and even thinned to the point of invisibility on some part of the hood. That’s a look you simply cannot replicate even with the best of artistic talent. This is a working truck that looks that way.
Mechanically the truck runs and drives and while it was a factory 4×4, this one currently lacks a transfer case and the driveshaft to connect it to the front axle. Those parts are certainly available and while they may not be cheap it would put this thing over the top.
The engine is not original and we’re OK with that. It looks like a 1970s era big block Chrysler to us because of the Thermoquad carb that sits on top of it. Note the interesting shifter situation. We’re not sure of the backward facing handle is hooked to the factory three speed transmission or a four speed stick. Either way it has a man pedal and we’re good with that.
This truck is BangShifty as hell and we want it in our garage!

I think its time to get your eyes checked, Brian. I only count 2 pedals and one empty hole. Looks like this was originally a T-O-T but now has whatever random AT came with the engine. Shame about the original 4×4 parts.
