This Box Truck Hung Over The Side Of Interstate 93 In Boston For A Few Hours

With Route 66 the one possible exception, we shouldn’t be reporting on one particular Interstate route twice in three months, but Interstate 93 in Boston is proving to be the exception to the rule. First there was the driver of the Toyota truck that launched off of the overpass and slammed into the road below, and now there is this Freightliner box truck that wound up hanging off of the edge of the same overpass near the Columbia Road exit, just over the MBTA train tracks. The crash itself occurred just before 6 a.m. local time, when the Freightliner and a Toyota were involved in an accident, though it’s not clear how the bigger truck wound up as a teeter-totter. Boston Police and MBTA were notified, and MBTA shut down that section of the Red Line as a precaution. The truck was removed from the overpass by 8:30 a.m. and the two passengers were taken to the hospital for possible injuries. There’s no report yet on if they’ve stopped screaming.
