Sometimes even we get surprised by stuff despite the fact that we largely live our lives trolling the internet for cool content to show you. There are times when we click a link or play a video and instead of being what we thought it was going to be, it floors us by being something very different and very much better than we expected. Don’t take that as a dig at previous King of the Hammers videos because it isn’t, take that as a supreme compliment because this 3-minute trailer for the upcoming 2014 King of The Hammers Movie entitled, “Element Of Survival” is absolutely amazing and it is nothing like you expect it to be.

We would have bet you a stack of bills that this would be a heavy metal laden, violent, dirty, gritty, screaming engine, loud opus about the King of the Hammers. Instead, it is an artful and amazing look with great cinematography, a pretty haunting musical bed, near poetic narration, and some really jaw dropping footage in both real time and slow motion that captures the spirit and nature of what we believe is one of the toughest off road races on the planet. Like all forms of desert racing, “living” to the end is a major accomplishment and that is the message that this video is conveying in a beautiful way. We can only imagine what the full length film will look like because this three minute trailer is as good or better than anything else you’ll see today or this week for that matter.

Major kudos to the people who made this film and for the people at the King of the Hammers for giving them the access and support they needed to make it. THIS is amazing stuff.
