Using Two Pickup Trucks To Tear The Cab Off A Third Truck May Be Crude, But Wow Is It Effective!

Using Two Pickup Trucks To Tear The Cab Off A Third Truck May Be Crude, But Wow Is It Effective!

Typically the “best” way to do things is the “right” way to do things. This is usually because the “right” way to do things is less fun and requires some sort of knowledge, talent, or other defining skill that we don’t have. Because of this, when we see a job get done in a less than typical manner, we try to highlight it so perhaps BangShifters in the future can also benefit. We’ll clarify right now that we wouldn’t use this train of thought when considering what surgeon to choose but when it comes to automotive tomfoolery, it is the only way to go.

What we have here is a trio of Chevrolet trucks. Two of the trucks are running, driving, and in seemingly good order. The third truck is basically just a cab and engine sitting on a rolling frame. We’re not sure why these guys are ripping the cab off the frame of this thing but we do know that pulling a cab can be a pain in the backside (Ford dealer mechanics want to hit me with a shovel right now). With one truck hooked to the front and another hooked to the back and a strap running through the window openings to the Silverado in the rear things are bound to get interesting, right? Right.

Both trucks lean into the gas and the cab makes a majestic, graceful, and altogether controlled exit from the frame where it had lived for so many years. There guys get bonus points for apparently not removing once solitary wire from the engine before pulling because you can hearing them snapping like rubber bands as the cab exits stage right. The landing is the best part and the guy filming is even amazed but the skill that these dudes exhibited.

Well done gents! Take note everyone else. This is an idea who’s time has come.
