Best Of 2014: The Oddest and Most Badder Asser Pickup In America Does a Burnout and Makes a Dyno Pull

This truck is one of those rare vehicles that when viewed one way is the coolest thing ever, but when viewed another way, is a little on the freakish side. In doing some digging around the internet, we found that a guy named Daniel Dechert of Georgia built this truck a few years back. It started life as a 1974 Chevy and was built into Dechert’s dream truck. The cool parts to us are the minimal lift that still manages to tuck 46.5-inch tires under the truck, the 582ci Merlin based big block Chevy and Kobelco 14-71 blower which combine to make 1500hp, and the way the fenders are flared.

We’re weirded out by the grill, headlights, and extended cab with no windows. At the end of the day it isn’t our truck and the owner built it to his tastes. We’re kind of surprised that there isn’t a lot more about this thing on the internet as it was on the Powerblock TV show in 2008 as the featured vehicle one week. It seems ripe to be featured by a magazine or even right here at BangShift!

We don’t know what is under it for axles and if it is 2wd or 4wd. We also do not know what is in it for a transmission. We think that the headlights came out of a Land Rover and they’re not doing a whole lot for us, but the 1500hp engine that is all tucked under the relatively flat hood really makes us forget all about the werido lights.

This is one evil truck, totally Darth Vader style. If we were judging on pure evil intent alone, it would be an 11 out of 10.

Watch the videos below and tell us what you think.

Is this thing totally evil cool or too odd to love?
