Remote control cars were a big part of our gearhead childhood. We had bunches of them and for a time there was even an R/C racing facility by us that we’d check out with our dad. The one R/C vehicle we craved was a Tamiya Clod Buster. It is a bad ass monster truck with four wheel steering, four-wheel drive, and really big tires.
The original Clod Buster was discontinued a few years ago but was replaced by the Super Clod Buster that features some upgrades from the original design. These things are so popular you can build an entire truck from after-market parts!
The are purchased in “build it yourself” kits and we gazed at them in wonder while we were at the hobby shop as kids buying model rocket engines. Below you’ll find a promotional video for the original Clod Buster.
I’ve got the newer Super Clodbuster sitting in my basement. Only gripe is it kills the battery in 15 minutes. But it is slightly faster than the SCX10 I have
